The Memorial goes to Pozzato

Pozzato won Memorial Ballerini
Filippo Pozzato has won the first edition of the Memorial Franco Ballerini beating in a two men sprint Francesco Ginanni of Diquigiovanni Team. With 30 km to go the decisive breakaway of 12 riders: Pozzato, Ginanni, Petacchi, Cavendish, Belletti, Tosatto, Nibali, Ferrara, Ferrari, Gasparotto, Anzà, Failli. With 10 km to go Pozzato and Ginanni breaked again. Petacchi won the third place sprint. 
“I’m satisfied for this victory” said Filippo Pozzato “this race will be my last race with the Italian championship jersey because I will not dispute the next Italian Championship race. I already won the Ballerini prize in Paris-Roubaix for the best Italian rider”
